It’s Unfair

An old post… same theme.

All Things Bright and Beautiful

“Faith’s most severe tests come not when we see nothing,

but when we see a stunning array of evidence that seems to prove our faith vain.”

Elisabeth Elliot

Life is unfair, you can’t control who you are born to, what happens to you growing up, sicknesses that may come, unexpected heartbreak, even divorce many times, is out of our control now.  You may have to watch your children suffer with something you can’t help them with, or worse, you may be the one to bury your child.  Life is unfair.

It’s in times like this that we doubt all we thought we knew – if you’re a good person, good things should certainly happen to you – right?

God loves you, He allows horrible things to happen yes, but don’t miss the blessing that might be hidden in the heartache.  You might learn from your child, lessons you never would’ve…

  1. Thank you for sharing this again, it is true that the unfair struggles and trials of our lives are times of learning. I know I have repeatedly learned this on many levels and while I know I have sometimes taken a while to reach the lesson and fully rely on God. Life can seem to be so unfair.

Today was one of my difficult days when I felt one more thing was just too much today. Our beloved dog Dean had to be put down this morning. He was getting old an having very bad joint pain. We found him on the side on the road and believe some cruel person beat him before we found him. We gave him 7&1/2 years of a good life filled with love. He protected my family and was so gentle with my niece and nephew, he made me feel safe. He was also my Dad’s dog, and has struggled this past year as well, alway looking for him. Today Dean crossed the Rainbow Bridge to be with my Dad (I know there is no Biblical support for this thought or belief, but I feel it and it helps with the pain.) My whole family is feeling the loss and grieving our wonderful dog. This is a small example of when life feels unfair, compared to other I have, but finding this to read today seemed like a God sent message that I needed.

  2. That is so sad, animals are so special to us, like part of the family. I’m sorry for your loss. I do hope pets go to Heaven – the Bible does say that God cares about animals, so how much more does He care about us.

I hope the post did bless you.
